All on the top row were taken in September 2004 on the Abbeville Sub. The first is at the Lawrenceville Depot. Next came Dacula and after that the GA 324 overpass in Auburn. The Tunnel Motor shot was 4 days later in downtown Auburn.

The bottom row were all taken on Dec27 2004. The NS SD60 was shot at Gainesville shoving cars to Cargill. The next 3 were on the Abbeville. First was the NS whiteface passing Power Brick in Bogart. Second is a shot of a train underway in front of a farm at Harper Siding. The last was CSX Q199 passing a church just south of Harper.

The four pictures above were taken by yours truly during one week in early June 2002 in beautiful downtown Buford.

These four were taken by me also the same week as the four above. It was a very fruitful week. The first 2 were taken in Sugar Hill at the southernmost crossing. The second unit was the prize. My first UP 70M with the flags. This was on a Thursday when I was heading to the shop for the weekly evening goof off session. The next 2 were shot the next day around 6 PM on my way home from work. The scanner sound ed off and I got to the Little Mill Road crossing just before the train rounded the bend. Low and behold , the second Flags unit. In the lead this time and would you believe the next number in the series.

These 4 taken on 26Dec 2002.  In the morning the first freight thru Buford after the Christmas break was 154 with the BNSF 7307 in the lead. The third one were 2 SD40-2's on P37 I believe. Taken on Railroad Street in South Buford. The Last is NS153 with 9022 in the lead coming south thru Walters ( North Buford)

These 4 were taken in about a 3 week period in March/April 2003. The first is NS 154 coming thru the South end of Buford on the last Thursday in March. The next day a late Amtrak 19 passes by Downtown Buford. 2 Monday's later this CSX Southbound waits on another train in Auburn. The next Saturday unique in that a BN Executive set of SD70MAC's brought 237 South. That was the first time anyone could remember seeing those on the Piedmont.

Both are taken in Winder of one of the last Jordan Spreaders on CSX.

Below we have a section on the Gainesville Midland. This is a CSX ex-SAL

line that runs from Gainesville to Athens. Gainesville Midland Decapods are

preserved in Gainesville, Winder and at the Southeastern Railroad Museum.

Here are 3 pictures from Robert Gray. The first two are of the NW1218 coming thru Suwanee in 1993 and the third is a little Oneida & Western mishap on CSX in Lawrenceville several years back.

The next three pics are from Russ Goodwin, a friend of ours who does custom work for us. I know these are not from our little corner of Atlanta, but they are too nice to be left out! Besides, how often do the Olympic Torch Train units make it up here. Great shots Russ!! His custom detailing is even better! All shots taken March 2002.

These four were shot between May and July 2003 with my new Digital Camera. I'm still learning but here are some of the results. The first is NS213 coming south at Carolina which is about at the border between Duluth and Carolina. The third picture was taken at the North end of Buford in late June and the last was taken on the east end of Winder about 3 days later.

The first 2 shots below are from local railfan Lamar Jones. The first was taken in July 2003 in Winder right before a storm hit. The second was taken in May 2002 in Hull, west of Athens of a UP SD70 with Flags. Lots of UP units on the Abbeville Sub! The next 3 were taken by me in early Fall of 2003 on the Piedmont Division. First was Santa Fe Warbonnet 657 taken at Duluth and the second was NS Horsehead SD70M taken at Walters in Buford.
